Who runs this site
howtogetoverstagefright.com runs itself and is responsible for the small amount of data below. Write to hello@howtogetoverstagefright.com with any question or request.
The countdown and the breathing pacer
Picking how long you have, folding the steps and switching the pacer all happen inside your browser. None of those choices is sent anywhere.
What a visit records
A small script notes that a page was opened, the page that sent you here, how far you scrolled, whether the question block came into view and which practice button you tapped. It also notes your browser language, operating system, screen and window size, time zone, and a few signs that help us filter out automated visits. A random ID kept in your browser lets a return visit count as the same visitor. Your country is worked out from your IP address; the address itself is not kept.
Where it goes
These records pass through this site's own server to an analytics provider that stores them in the European Union. They show us which parts of the page help people. Nobody buys them and no advertiser sees them.
Storage in your browser
No cookies are set. Your browser keeps the random ID, a visit marker that runs out after thirty minutes of quiet, and, if you close it, the hidden state of the small bar at the bottom of the page. Clearing this site's data removes all of it, and the page still works if scripts or trackers are blocked.
The practice buttons
Every practice button points to /calm-run on this site. That address looks only at your browser's user agent: Android phones go on to the Confidently page in Google Play, with the button's spot on the page passed along as a referrer, and every other device goes to the Confidently page in Apple's App Store. Nothing is stored on the way. From there, the store's own privacy terms and the app's apply.
Your choices
Email the address above and anything linked to your random ID will be deleted. Since nothing here knows your name, clearing this site's data in your browser breaks the link right away.
